The piece, Nature of Nature, is based on a subject that is so apparent to us that we tend to neglect it, yet it is something we are clearly aware of. The over-all design of the piece is a precisely constructed glass display case that is designed to evoke a sense of permanence and order. Within this container a book of general knowledge is placed on top of a bed of sterilized soil and a small amount of natural soil. Etched on top of the glass case is a sentence structure that directly places the viewer into this equation.
